Connect Plateful to Claude and ChatGPT

Plateful has a connector, so you can reach your own recipes from an AI assistant. Ask what to cook tonight and it searches the recipes you already saved. Paste a link and the recipe lands in your library, the same way it does in the app. Everything happens in your own account, and a shared household sees the same kitchen.

What you need

A Plateful account with Premium, and an assistant that supports connectors. The connector address is:

Setting it up

Claude

Open Settings, then Connectors, and add a custom connector with the address above. There is no client ID or secret to enter. Plateful opens a page asking whether you want to give the assistant access, you sign in as usual and approve, and the connection is ready.

ChatGPT

On the web, open Settings, then Apps & Connectors, turn on developer mode, and add the address above. The same approval page appears. Once connected on the web, the connection also works on your phone.

What you can ask for

Find something to cook. "What can I cook tonight from my saved recipes?" or "Show me my pasta recipes." You get your own recipes back, with ingredients, steps and nutrition.
Import a recipe. Paste a link, or paste the text of a recipe. It is processed exactly like an import started in the app, so it shows up on your Home screen and you get a notification when it is ready.
Write and edit. Save a new recipe, fix the one you just cooked, or adjust the servings note.
Organize. Sort recipes into collections, rate what you cooked, and leave a note for next time.
Repair. Generate a new cover image, or recalculate nutrition after changing ingredients.

Recipes come back with a link that opens in the Plateful app if you have it installed, and in the web app otherwise.

Access and privacy

Signing in uses the standard OAuth flow, so the assistant never sees your password. It receives access to your account only after you approve it on Plateful's own page, and it can only reach what you can reach in the app: your household's recipes and collections, nothing from anyone else.

Anything you ask the assistant to do is carried out under your account, so other members of your household see the changes just as they would if you made them in the app. Recipe content you read or import travels to the assistant you connected, where that provider's own privacy policy applies. You can revoke access at any time in your assistant's connector settings. Removing the connection stops all further access, and your recipes stay exactly as they are.

Good to know

Deleting a recipe through an assistant is permanent, the same as in the app. There is no trash, so a good assistant will ask first.
Editing a recipe's ingredients or steps replaces them rather than merging, so ask for the full list when you change one.
Imports run in the background. You can close the chat and the recipe still arrives.
Each assistant is approved separately, so connecting Claude does not connect ChatGPT.

Something not working?

Write to support@plateful.cloud and a real human reads it, usually within two working days. It helps to say which assistant you connected and what you asked for.
